Fraternity and Sorority Life

It’s about more than wearing letters—it’s about making an impact.

For almost 40% of Butler students, building life-long relationships, developing leadership skills, and supporting philanthropic initiatives through membership in a fraternity or sorority helps make the most out of their college experience.

Create lasting memories.

With the potential to explore new experiences and activities, our chapters, consisting of seven fraternities and eight sororities, plan formals and social events, service projects, and stay connected with alumni mentors while maintaining GPAs that are, on average, above 3.4.

Additionally, in any given year, members of Butler’s fraternity and sorority community contribute more than 20,000 hours in service to over 200 Indianapolis area nonprofits.

Panhellenic Sororities

The primary focus of Panhellenic is to foster unity and encourage high standards among all sorority members and to work for the good of Butler University and its students.

National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)

In joining an NPHC organization, you become more than a member of one chapter, you join a self-supporting organization that will guide you throughout your years at Butler, and for life. Learn more about the Alpha Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and our Indianapolis city-wide chapters.
